Easy Refrigerator Overview - How to Diagnose Leaks
Thank you.
Hey! Thanks for this. The window company wanted $1,200 to "adjust" some single hung windows that just need some fresh balance springs. You saved me $1,100. Much appreciated.
Aye, matey, savin' coin be the goal - smooth sailin'!
Thanks! I have 2 faucets that have been leaking for a while. I'm going to go buy the seat and springs and give it a shot. Can't wait to see the difference in the water bill next month!
Aye, matey, ye can do it! Let me know how it goes.
Haven't had a video in year. Hope your well good sir!
Aye, thank ye for your concern, matey! I be fine, just consumed with my "day" job for the past year. Hoping to start posting again in the fall.
I live in korea. Just used you ballast replacement. Thank you sir!❤
Ye be most welcome, matey - smooth sailin'!
Looked easy enough. Bought the parts for $12. Watched other videos that showed the exact same thing. My faucet is still leaking and now somehow I screwed up the hot water knob. Can't turn on the knob to get water. I have to turn the valve underneath on /off now. I created another problem...😊😢
Aye, matey, that happens! First of all, take the hot water knob apart, and put it back together, taking care to make sure everything is lining up correctly. If it starts working again, but still leaks, then you may need to replace the cartridge. Let me know if this works.
he looks like mick foley
LOL - I've heard that!
New videos soon?
Hopefully this fall, matey!
Really hope your true name is Steve and you're on a terrific Dodgeball team 😊
LOL!!!
Another issue: I just moved into an older rental house (2007) and the bathtub is backing up with water-drain is plugged up. So I unscrewed the little drain stopper and there was half circle with a hole that seems like you could insert an Allan wrench. But I tried & it did nothing. I’d love to replace this whole drain/stopper thing with one that allows you to easily clean the drain out, also seals better, and one that allows me to add a hair catcher inside of it. (My husband always fixed all these problems but it’s just me now) Help me!
Hmmm, I've not seen that before. Rather than possibly damaging the piece, I would recommend that you call your landlord and have him send a plumber out to fix it. If you are present when the plumber is there, that would be a great opportunity to ask him about a replacement stopper with a hair-catcher.
Followed your instructions-it worked!!! FYI, when I went to Lowe’s the guy needed to know what brand faucet I have since certain kits are made for certain faucets. (Mine is Delta) Worked like a charm!
Aye, lass, glad to hear it - smooth sailin'!
👋
Thank ye, matey!
Hi just stumpbled across this channel and i have to admit from the very beginning i was fixed on it and its because of this ive dropped a like and subbed immediately 😊
Thank ye, matey, much appreciated!
Why did you not thread the new ballast wires into the end lamp "socket"? In other words, remove the red and blue wires from the end lamp socket and connect the new ballast wires directly to the socket?
Good question! In thepast, I've had issues with not having enough slack, so I always use the wire nuts. Plus, it makes for easier/quicker replacement.
Shops charge twice as much as buying a new one yourself and installing it yourself.
Aye, matey, ye be correct!
Thank you so much for the video.
Ye be most welcome, matey - smooth sailin'!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I am moving and had no idea it could come apart so am pleasantly surprised I can now do this and not leave it behind. I also really like the statement you had taped at the front of the unit!! lol.
Glad this helped, matey, and happy that you appreciate the sarcasm of the sign!
Thank you 🙌🏼

@@thepiratehandyman2225 Guess what?!! I did it!!! I fixed my toaster the same day after watching ur video mate!! 🙌🏼 I'm so proud of me n my daughter! Shukran (thank you) God bless you! Thanks for saving me money.. and time at a frying pan 😅
Aye, matey, ye CAN do it - so glad this helped you and your daughter. Savin' coin be the objective - smooth sailin'!
When the wire nuts are removed from the old ballast, good practice is to clip the twisted ends of the wires and then strip them so that they have straight bare ends that are about the same length as the straight stripped ends of the wires from the new ballast. Then twist the wire nut until there are a few turns of the insulated wire just behind the wire nut. You want to do this so that the spring in the wire nut twists together the bare ends inside. This is especially important for the black and white lines where you're tying together three conductors. One of the common causes of failures and even fires is arcing inside the wire nut because the conductors are not fully twisted together.
Aye, great tips all - thank ye, matey!
I wish RUclips allowed photos. My Ballast doesn’t have a number on it. It has a white Ignition in the fixture. I replaced it and it still will not light. How do I replace the Ballast if it doesn’t have a number on it? Starring and Company INC is no longer in existence I guess. It says Bridgeport, Conn. but couldn’t find a listing. I would appreciate any advice Please?
Aye, lass, I would take it to a local hardware store that sells ballasts. Someone who knows the trade should be able to help you. Let me know if this works!
@@thepiratehandyman2225 I will. Thank You for caring
I sure do appreciate you for doing this. You make it so I can follow along. God bless you for caring.😊
Aye, lass, thank ye so much for your kind words. It means a lot that you understand why I do this. Smooth sailin'!

Great video. I removed the same type Acorn stairlift using this video. I’m a 79 year old and I was able to do this myself! & a friend Thanks For your help !
Aye, glad to hear it helped - congratulations, matey!
Bro I really appreciate the time it took to do this video. We’re having new carpet installed and I had to get the treadmill out of there and forgot how it went together. This video saved the day. Thanks so much. This is what RUclips should be about.
Aye, thank ye for the kind words, matey - glad it helped ye!
Nice solution. I have a flymo 460 sde that broke its handle. Its a really bad design with a heavy mower. 2 side arms attached to the deck with resin discs that attach them to a 1 piece handle . I think the design was made so you can lift the mower by lifting the handle up, pivoting the mower around the front wheels. You cannot push the handle down to pivot it on the back wheels lifting the front. The resin discs are adapted for a curved handle end. It was designed to fail.
Sorry to hear, this matey - sounds like a really bad design.
@@thepiratehandyman2225 I managed to drill wood which split with a relatively small bore but survived with 3 x larger holes to attach it to the frame. I will see if I can drill metal. My initial attempts failed but I am not sure if I was practising on hardened steel. Thanks for the video.
Good luck, matey - smooth sailin'!
not the mower handle i'm trying to fix ryobi 40101 someone disassembled but couldn't put back together *excellente video* *ARGH!* 🏴☠
Thank ye for the kind words, matey, and I hope you find a solution!
@@thepiratehandyman2225 Thank You for your reply, that someone was my brother always taking things apart and never able to put them together doesn't have the patience. he buys new toys and i inherit them via "fix it and it's yours" those sliding handle locks don't need to be removed. no videos on it either, only video of how to unpack lawnmower from box and how to lock/unlock that feature. 2 hrs later i won the war. very few times i give up and my patience been tested. *salsero* salsa dancer/teacher here: that little salsa music jingle was hilarious fits perfectly slaps subscribe button *i Like, OLE'!* 💃 *cerveza for you* 🍺

Nose to the wind
Aye?
Awesome Video 👏👏👏👍 Why would they make those crappy cheap Nylon outlets, I have a GE too, they are threaded horribly...
Thank ye for the kind words, matey. I agree. I think it has something to do with corrosion, but it sure makes it easy to cross-thread.
Good soup bud! I appreciate the help! 🤘💚🤘
Aye, matey, glad it helped - smooth sailin'!
how do you know if it is the ballast or if its the little tombstones?
Generally, when the ballast is going out, it takes more than one "flip of the switch" to get the light to come on, and it gets worse over time, until it simple won't come on. If it's the "tombstones," they usually lose their connection very quickly, and no amount of switch-flipping will get the light to come on.
Can u help me ?
If ye can't do it yourself, best to call a local handyman. I'm at sea most of the time...;-)

My faucet is newer, no idea what brand, does one size fit all?
Aye, matey, generally they all take the same size.
My P trap was clean and not clogged. I still have water not draining.
Check the pipe coming out of the garbage disposal. That can be another choke point.
@@thepiratehandyman2225The garbage disposal and all the pvc pipes are clear. There was a very strong odor after disassembling the pvc pipes. I tried to put a snake into the pvc pipe going out into the back wall of the condo unit but it was blocked by a turn in the pipe. When I put everything back together, water still backs up into the sink. I would like to see the second video. Tgank you.

Can faulty inlet valve leave water in the bottom?
Probably not. If there are no clogs, it's most likely a faulty drain pump.
Thanks!
Ye be most welcome - smooth sailin'!
Turned off the hot water under the sink to fix the sink faucet, and now the shut off leaks...
Aye, that happens. But it's an easy fix. Although the video link below is for an outside faucet, the fix is the same on the valve. Let me know if this works for you. ruclips.net/video/KDAB0HjgYYs/видео.html
